About

Krita is a free and open-source raster graphics editor developed by the Krita Foundation and KDE contributors. It was originally created for Linux and now also runs on Windows, macOS, Haiku, Android and ChromeOS. The project began in the mid-2000s and shifted its focus in 2009 towards digital painting and animation. The program is used for digital illustration, concept art, texture work and 2D animation. It fits into a workflow as a painting and drawing tool, with layers, masks and colour management supporting work that is later exported or passed to other software. A paid build with automatic updates is distributed through stores such as Microsoft Store, Steam and Epic Games Store, and payments support development. Krita is free and open-source software. A paid version is also sold on Microsoft Store, Steam, Epic Games Store and Mac App Store; it adds automatic updates, and payments support development. The version listed here is 2.8.2, and the project was first released on 21 June 2005. System requirements for Windows are not stated in the collected facts.

Does the job, but the interface is stuck in 2015 and the font scaling on a 4K display is painful.
