Vegas Pro

Vegas Pro is a non-linear video editing application for Microsoft Windows. It began as an audio-only tool from Sonic Foundry in 1999, gained video editing in version 2.0, and passed through Sony Creative Software before being acquired by MAGIX in 2016. Boris FX took ownership in 2026. The software is used for editing and assembling video and audio on a timeline, with support for common media formats and effects. It fits into production workflows as a standalone editor for cutting, arranging and finishing projects on standard Windows hardware. Vegas Pro is Windows-only. The product has changed publisher several times: Sonic Foundry, then Sony Creative Software, then MAGIX, and from 2026 Boris FX. The website listed in the source facts is the older Sony Creative Software address and may not reflect the current publisher. Check the vendor's site for current licensing and system requirements.
